Hi, all! I’m Mari, a writer for Arcadian Lighting. I’m so happy to be visiting My Home Rocks today, with a post about spaces inspired by the great Pacific Northwest.
Known for its amazing forests, this region seems to grow architects and designers who instinctively know how to create stunning homes that showcase the natural beauty of wood. Amid such breathtaking surroundings, it’s only natural that the lines are often blurred between indoor and outdoor environments and that makes their designs special. For your Pacific Northwest inspiration, we bring you eight examples today:
Welcome to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. This Oregon mountain home with its emphasis on wood embodies today’s contemporary Pacific Northwest style.
With a view of Lake Wenatchee in Washington State, another modern home is all about wood—walls, ceilings and built-ins. What a wonderful space to curl up with a good book or simply relax and enjoy the great scenery.
From grand contemporary, we turn to the Colombia River near Portland, Oregon, and a tiny house on Sauvie Island. This cozy kitchen complete with wood stove and reclaimed wood wall has an iconic cabin feel, while glass pendant lights give it a stylish updated look.
The design of this sleek workspace with a bird’s eye view of a Pacific Northwest forest blurs the lines of indoors and out. I like the contrast of heavy wood beams and wood flooring with the white window frames and ceiling.
A more traditional chalet style home gets a fresh look with new wood furnishings. Wall sconce up lighting draws the eye to the carved wood beams above.
Over on the Canadian side of the border, we found this inspiring dining room filled with beautiful woods. The carved wall art brings a lovely ethnic feel to this calm environment. The trio of black pendant lights seem to have been made especially for such a space.
Mid-Century modern chairs fit comfortably in this wood-infused bedroom in the same Lake Wenatchee home as the living room seen (second image) above.
The ultimate Pacific Northwest inspiration, this curvy deck show just how versatile wood can be when it comes to creating custom shapes. Doesn’t the deck and the view perfectly capture this overwhelmingly beautiful region?
